Light Up!

Less than a week until I go back to Seattle! I leave Sunday to start working camps up there until season starts on the 15th. I'm so excited to go back! It'll be weird leaving home again but nice to get back in the volleyball routine. Because I have to leave Sunday, I have to pack EVERYTHING this week! I'm not taking everything at once, but I have to get it all ready to go. That being said, I'm getting all of my apartment stuff even though I don't need it for two months. Our apartment is so dark so I HAVE to figure out some lighting solutions! Here are some thrifty/cute ideas that could take care of the darkness :)

Get Pretty!

Hello world, I'm back! I was in Vancouver, Washington for a few days coaching volleyball with a former teammate and her fam. It was so much fun! The weather was AWFUL though, it was so cloudy the whole time. I also turned 19 on the 21st! Shoot, I'm getting old :) Here's a picture from my birthday dinner with Maura, Alli, Kyle, Morgan, Emily my sister Maddie at the Cheesecake Factory.

Dream Bedroom

Hello and happy Saturday! Today's sort of a lazy/boring day but I'm going to Portland [in the rain] tonight with Alli to go to Solid Rock. I love this church and I also like watching the podcasts. Switching gears, my sister has been thinking about redoing her bedroom. Right now it's kind of brownish-blackish and pretty dark and she wants it to be lighter with maybe some color. It used to be my room until I left for college when we traded. I don't think the odds of her getting a room makeover are very high, but dream on, Maddie :)

Harry Potter Mania!

RE-BLOG ALERT! I found my new favorite blog...it has all things cute and quirky for any theme or occasion! Some of my best friends (and future roommate, shout out to Katie Weber!) went to the midnight premier of Harry Potter last night. They all loved it! MAC and Mac

Today I got an e-mail about the new MacBook Pro! I've been waiting for my clunky Dell to die so I can replace it with the sleek/trendy/awesome Mac. I originally got my Dell thinking I was being clever in saving money, when really I just shot myself in the foot. I have had SO many issues with this thing it's not even funny. Part of it comes from my friend Holly stepping on it and killing the screen, but that's another story. To my disappointment, the "new" Mac looks the same as it did before (just with new software) so I won't be upgrading anytime soon unless my Dell bursts into flames. I should explain the other part of my anticipation...I love Apple. I am seriously SO in love with their style and how they manage to outdo themselves with the launch of the next version of, everything! They can't do any wrong. I didn't think the iPhone could get any better, but then they came out with the 4th one! Once they come out with the next version I'm using my upgrade and trading in this (junky) Droid and getting myself and iPhone (Or if you've ever heard me or any of my teammates say it, the "iFin". Just pretend you're saying it with a German/British/Snobby accent.). Here's my Apple wish list, even though I'm pretty sure it matches everyone else's.

Part 2: MAC. I also love this brand of makeup (Again, team pronunciation=MOC-up. Mix of MAC and Makeup with that German/British/Snobby accent. We're into that kind of thing.). I've gone through plenty of their foundations and powders to know that they can almost do no wrong, just like Apple! This of course is an exaggeration because I'm sure they've had their fair share of flops (just none that I know of). Here are some of my most FAVORITE colors/shades/whatever-you-wanna-call-it of everything from foundations to eyeshadow (except for mascara because THIS is the best).

Decorate With...Jars?

Today we went to the snow! It's a little bizarre being up on the mountains one minute and then laying out in the sun the next. Mt. Bachelor is about a 15 minute drive from Sunriver and if our family was into snow sports this would be the PERFECT place to stay during the winter! I stayed here for a few days in December and everything was covered in at least a foot of snow, it was so pretty! I have some friends who come here during the winter to go skiing and snowboarding because the weather could not be any more perfect for it. Here are a few shots of our (short) trip up to the mountain:

I was exploring a few sites yesterday searching for reusable/upcyclable products when I came across some ideas for things to do with Mason jars! Traditionally used for jams and canning, these vintage-esque containers can be utilized a hundred different ways around the house, some more for decoration than others :) Here are my personal favorites...I can't wait to try some of these out in my apartment next year!
