Eyebrow Obsession

I may or may not have an obsessive eye for eyebrows. For some strange reason, they're usually the first thing that I notice on someone. How well shaped they are, the arch and whether or not they're over plucked. They can totally shape someone's face and make them look completely put together or not. I also have a little Pinterest eyebrow addiction...every time a good lookin' brow pops up I MUST repin it! Take a look at some of my faves...they vary a little bit but all of them are so strong and clean.

Christmas Baking: Part One

It's officially Christmas season! I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving--that being said, it's time to celebrate the best month of the year! I look forward to Christmas oh-so-much for a few reasons:

1. I get to bake as much as my heart desires without anyone getting on my case about too many sweets around the house. It's perfectly acceptable to have excess sugar in the pantry when the weather outside is frightful!

2. I get to be home with my family! This of course is also an appreciation of the month off from school that we get to be at home and relax.

3. STARBUCKS. Oh my word...the red cups are here. Granted, they've been here for a few weeks, but now they finally mean something! It's socially acceptable for me to listen to Christmas music 24/7 while sipping my peppermint white mocha (if anyone out there wants to send me some Starbucks love, you know how to find me).

4. Do I need more reasons? It's Christmas! Forget about the commercialized aspect and massive consumerism that goes on during this season; it's a time to celebrate the birth of Christ and what better way to do that than with the people we love.

When I say "part one", that means part one of a possible 500 posts that I could dream up about Christmas baking. This first part is a tribute to the iconic Christmas candy: The Candy Cane. Forget about pulling back the plastic wrapper and getting the sticky red sugar all over your hands...we're doing candy canes grownup style. Whether the red and white shows up in the form of a kiss (Hershey's, that is) or a small peppermint candy, there's no going wrong with the refreshing flavor that accompanies them. Check out these (decadent, wonderful, do-able) recipes that accentuate the diversity of this cane of Christmas joy.

First item on my to-do list:

Raining Cats and...More Cats

Oh my WORD it is raining in Seattle like nobody's business! I know I signed up for some showers and year round cloud coverage but not flooding in the middle of campus! I need a serious shoe update, I could probably use a pair of those pants that fishermen wear when they go wading in shallow water. You tell me, is it a good look? I think I'll need to invest in a pair of these if the rain decides to keep coming down the way it has been (Yes, I've been in Seattle for a year and a half and still don't have rain boots!).

After I get the boots, it's time to finish the look! I'm in LOVE with this rainy day style...check it out!

Boots...Without Fur

Oh Hey! I haven't posted for a while and the fact that I'm taking Anatomy can be blamed for that. I just finished up the second exam (one more to go!) and I'm taking a break tonight from studying. Right now I'm all about Bon Iver Pandora, graham crackers with peanut butter and wearing my Ugg boots 24/7. Even though they weren't meant to be worn with sweat pants every other day, that's what my life has come to. Putting on a pair of my favorite Hudson jeans today took some effort. I'm just thankful that I can pull the "athlete" card whenever I feel like walking out the door in a pair of yoga pants for the second day in a row (okay, third).

This morning I started out in a pair of Toms but then realized that I would not be nearly as comfortable taking my exam if I wasn't wearing my Uggs. Spending my time on Pinterest while getting ready in the morning while I get ready has also made me realize how versatile and adorable a good pair of boots can be. Next on my list is a pair of tan/brown boots similar to this first look.

Only Bee from Atlantic-Pacific could pull off this look in snowy Tahoe.
